Set texturing and lighting first test

This is the first test for the beginning. Terrace will be textured properly soon, I just need to finish the UV mapping. You can see the sky mat painting in the background, but I  will add two more mat painting layers of environment. Lighting at the moment might be too sharp.

Later I also played around with sort of polluted water texturing.

Mother Modelling Progress (Head)

Needs to go through more changes....

Work list!

Ok guys since we had a good discussion today on what exactly needs to be done by everyone it should be clearer for us to get on with our work. So here is what each one of us needs to do:

Dom

Tweak the house
Matte Paintings
Work out the colour palletes on the mood changes of the Trailer
Go through Alan's tutorial for character texturing.
Make the layered sky view scene (Tree Planes, ground, etc)
Have a look on water textures

Aidan
Model the bushes
Fix the pier
Model Bank scene
Model wooden toy boat
Model Woods scene

Andriana

Finsh modelling characters
UV them  (to give to Dom)
Rig them
Skin Them

NEXT MEETING IS TOMORROW AT 12 (13/12/2011)

See you there !

Mother Modelling Progress (Body)

Hey guys I left the head on the side for a bit and I decided to work on the body for a while. We'll talk about her tomorrow on our meeting :)

@group by Aidan Codd

This Monday (12-12-11) we need to meet up at 9 am for a group meeting and discus what we have to do to make the most out of this week at uni. If there is a reason why you cannot attend you must tell one of us either by phone or leave a comment in this post, preferably before the meeting starts.
Thanks Aidan Codd

Play blast test by Aidan Codd

This is a play blast test of what needs to be in the shot, and what scale everything has to be with each other. Andriana (House). Domantas (Car) .the rest by me. ( this is the second part of the trailer with build up to part three)

Test screen shots of the environment by Aidan Codd.

Test on building up the environment and what it is starting to look like. ( still work in progress) PhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucketPhotobucket Photobucket Photobucket

Tracy's Modelling Process

A few more bits and tweakings and she'll be ready to rig and skin :)

Fiat 127 Progress

So I had this this task for a while and even though it is so simple only now you can see a bit more clear shape of the front. It is time to speed up my work and finish this one once and for all.

Blocking out hair shape

Just an experiment how hair shape could look like. I tweaked nose (added nostrils), lips and eyebrows edge a bit. Eyebrows can be made within textures with a bit of bump, because like that it would be easier to get more elegant shape. I will also tweak ears and add pony tales in the end.

Tracy's render tests 2

I went through few short mental ray skin texturing tutorials and found some interesting things to play around with. Now Tracy might look a bit more realistic, but as soon as I'll have proper UV maps, I'll be able to add some more interesting skin and hair features.

Firstly I tried to use misss_fast_skin shader. Image and bump files are empty at the moment, so It would be good to know what else could help to make more interesting textures.

Simple mental ray render.

First ambient occlusion render had too obvious polygon edges, so I had to do something about it. The easiest way is just to smoother everything, but it increases rendering time rapidly.

Second ambient occlusion render looks way much better. If smoothing is the only way  to do it we might just use this only for the close shots.

Edited image still looks a bit generic, but hopefully textures and other detail will bring it to life.

Painted texture

Painted Face. I still would like to add something to make it more interesting., Maybe interesting bump map texture could help.

I was thinking to add more color, but it worked weirdly.

Tracy's render tests

It's hard for me to judge this, so I will need everybody's opinions about how this style of the animation could look better through out lighting and shading. Here are first experiment with Tracy's face that Andriana already done. I'm really not sure if toon shader works well with Ambient occlusion.

Mother Doodling

I started from 70's hippie-like mother, but the problem seems to be that it's hard to define her age and  mother status when she looks like that.

Then I tried to make this neat working family mother type woman, but the same kind of style was also usual in 60's, so it would be hard to describe which exactly decade she is from.

In this case a woman inspired by "Charlie's Angels" perfectly matches timeline and is very believable to be a single caring mother.
